** Fall color is quickly spreading across northern and central Minnesota with peak conditions now developing across northern and central Minnesota - the strongest color through October 3rd will be just north of Bay Lake then by this weekend fall color will be very bright in the Bay Lake area. Sugar Maples are peaking a bright red orange and Green Ash trees have turned a golden yellow in and around the Bay Lake area - excellent fall color can now be found in the Bay Lake area and also along the U.S. Highway 169 drive on the west and south side of Mille Lacs lake. The best fall color in the Bay Lake area is between October 3rd and October 9th but areas of fall color in wind sheltered areas will linger until mid October.




TODAY: A mix of clouds and sun during the afternoon with a chance for some sprinkles or brief light rain showers.

High: 59 degrees.

Wind: Northwest at 7 to 14 mph.

Chance for rain today: 20% all day.

7 P.M. Weather: Partly cloudy with a slight chance for a brief light rain shower - temperatures will be in the mid 50s.




TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with a slight chance for an isolated shower until 9 P.M. then skies will be clear with a some patchy light frost by sunrise Friday.
