**Some stronger thunderstorms are possible on Sunday in the late afternoon and evening - widespread Severe weather is not expected at this time but some of the storms could produce hail, heavy rainfall and high wind gusts so stay tuned! Lake water temperatures around central Minnesota including the Bay Lake area are running from 57 to 62 degrees and should conitnue climbing into the mid 60s through the upcoming weekend - water temperatures under 70 degrees are considered to cold for swimming but by early June water temperatures in the Bay Lake area should be approaching 70 degrees. ** Winds will be gusty today from the Southeast at 15 to 25 mph and this will produce choppy conditions on Bay Lake at times this afternoon - winds will still be gusty from the Southeast at 10 to 20 mph into the early evening hours as well. ** A cool start this morning then windy and warmer conditions on the way - north of Bay Lake it will be cool today with temperatures in the 60s and only the 40s near Lake Superior but south of Bay Lake it will be in the 70s and 80s. Wednesday will bring +80 degrees to Ruttgers and winds will be gusty the next few days. Lilacs are blooming in Minneapolis now and should bloom around May 20 in the Bay Lake area.

** A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS POSSBILE EARLY THIS EVENING - a line of thunderstorms some Strong to Severe will develop ahead of a strong cold front in western Minnesota late this afternoon - the thunderstorms have a slight potential to be Severe with frequent cloud to ground lightning, heavy downpours, hail and wind gust over 50 mph on the leading edge of the storms - while not a high chance there could also be a breif funnel with any of the Severe storms - the greatest Severe weather threat is for hail and +50 mph wind gusts - behind the storms it will be windy with Northwest winds tonight and much cooler temperatures for the weekend with scattered frost Sunday morning as temperatures fall to near 30 degrees. Cool weather will continue for the upcoming weekend but by next Wednesday May 20th temperatures could be near 80 degrees! If you are planting things outside be careful as some patchy frost is possible this weekend on Sunday morning as lows fall into the low to mid 30s.
