** Fall color is quickly spreading across northern and central Minnesota with peak conditions now developing across northern and central Minnesota. Sugar Maples are peaking a bright red orange and Green Ash trees have turned a golden yellow in and around the Bay Lake area - excellent fall color can now be found in the Bay Lake area and also along the U.S. Highway 169 drive on the west and south side of Mille Lacs lake. The best fall color in the Bay Lake area is between October 6th and October 9th but areas of fall color in wind sheltered areas will linger until mid October.

** Fall color is quickly spreading across northern and central Minnesota with peak conditions now developing across northern and central Minnesota - the strongest color through October 3rd will be just north of Bay Lake then by this weekend fall color will be very bright in the Bay Lake area. Sugar Maples are peaking a bright red orange and Green Ash trees have turned a golden yellow in and around the Bay Lake area - excellent fall color can now be found in the Bay Lake area and also along the U.S. Highway 169 drive on the west and south side of Mille Lacs lake. The best fall color in the Bay Lake area is between October 3rd and October 9th but areas of fall color in wind sheltered areas will linger until mid October.




TODAY: Sunshine this morning then a mix of clouds and sun during the afternoon with breezy cool conditions.

High: 57 degrees.

Wind: Northwest at 8 to 16 mph.

** Fall color is quickly spreading across northern Minnesota - the best color is still far north of Bay Lake near the U.S./Canada border but in the next 5 days fall color should rapidly start showing in the Bay Lake area. Right now most trees are still Summer green but the Sugar Maples are already showing Orange and Reds - look for the best Sugar Maple peak color between September 25th and October 2nd. The best fall color in the Bay Lake area is between September 30th and October 5th but areas of fall color in wind sheltered areas will linger until mid October.




TODAY: Cloudy with rain and thunder through noon then mainly cloudy this afternoon with some peeks of sun along with spotty thunderstorms - some of the storms may produce heavy rainfall and hail today. It will be breezy this afternoon.

High: 71 degrees.

Wind: Southeast at 10 to 20 mph.

Chance for rain today: 100% through noon then 70% from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 50% from 4 P.M. through 8 P.M.
