*****Severe T-Storm now in the city of Brainerd and heading toward the Bay Lake area as of 7:30am - the most intense part of the storm will move south of Brainerd toward the Little Falls area thru 8am but be ready for gusty winds on the leading edge of the storm before 8am followed by rain - additional active thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon. ** Lake water temperatures are in the upper 70s on Bay Lake right now. Usually 70 degree lake water is the point in which it is safe to swim - lake water temperatures at Bay Lake reach highest levels of about 80 degrees in July.

The average temperature at Bay Lake in late July goes from an average high of 81 degrees and an average low of 58 degrees. During the month of August the average high is 81 degrees and the average low is 58 degrees on August 1st then an average high of 79 degrees and average low of 56 degrees on August 15th and an average high of 74 degrees and average low of 53 degrees on August 31st.
