** Fall color is quickly spreading across northern Minnesota - the best color is still far north of Bay Lake near the U.S./Canada border but in the next 5 days fall color should rapidly start showing in the Bay Lake area. Right now most trees are still Summer green but the Sugar Maples are already showing Orange and Reds - look for the best Sugar Maple peak color between September 25th and October 2nd. The best fall color in the Bay Lake area is between September 30th and October 5th but areas of fall color in wind sheltered areas will linger until mid October.




TODAY: Cloudy with rain and thunder through noon then mainly cloudy this afternoon with some peeks of sun along with spotty thunderstorms - some of the storms may produce heavy rainfall and hail today. It will be breezy this afternoon.

High: 71 degrees.

Wind: Southeast at 10 to 20 mph.

Chance for rain today: 100% through noon then 70% from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 50% from 4 P.M. through 8 P.M.

7 P.M. Weather: Partly to mostly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms - temperatures will be in the mid 60s and winds will be from the South at 8 to 16 mph.




TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Low: 57 degrees.

Wind: South at 7 to 14 mph.

Chance for rain tonight: 50% through 8 P.M. then 30% the rest of the evening.




FRIDAY: A mix of clouds and sun with scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening - some of the storms could be Severe with frequent cloud to ground lightning, heavy rain, hail and high winds - the greatest Severe weather threat on Friday and Friday night will be storms with hail and heavy rains.

High: 80 degrees

Wind: South at 10 to 20 mph.

Chance for rain: 30% all day from sunrise to noon then 60% from noon to 4 P.M. and 80% after 4 P.M.

7 P.M. Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms - some of the storms could be Severe - temperatures will be around 70 degrees - chance of rain is 80%.
