** Fall color is starting to pop in northern Minnesota - the best color is still far north of Bay Lake near the U.S./Canada border but in the next 5 days fall color should rapidly start showing in the Bay Lake area. Right now most trees are still Summer green but the Sugar Maples are already showing Orange and Reds - look for the best Sugar Maple peak color between September 25th and October 2nd. The best fall color in the Bay Lake area is between September 30th and October 5th but areas of fall color in wind sheltered areas will linger until mid October.




TODAY: Mainly cloudy with some peeks of sun possible just after the noon hour then showers and thunderstorms will re-develop after 2 P.M. - some of the storms could be Strong to Severe with frequent lightning, heavy downpours, gusty winds and hail between the hours of 2 P.M. and 6 P.M. - the greatest Severe weather risk is for storms to produce some hail. Winds will be gusty today from the Southwest up to 25 mph at times.

High: 72 degrees - it will be humid with dew point temperatures in the low 60s.

Wind: Southwest 15 to 25 mph.

Chance for rain today: 20% before 1 P.M. then 80% between 2 P.M. and 9 P.M.

7 P.M. Weather: Cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms - temperatures will be in the upper 50s and winds will be from the Southwest at 9 to 18 mph - chance for rain is 80%.




TONIGHT: Cloudy with scattered showers until 11 P.M. then clearing after midnight.

Wind: Southwest at 7 to 14 mph.

Chance for rain tonight: 80% until 11 P.M. then 20% at midnight and 0% after 3 A.M.
